The INIT 29 virus infects document files. It is not necessary to open an application to spread this virus. When a floppy disk is inserted in an infected machine, it is infected immediately. If the disk is locked, the message “The disk “xxxx” needs minor repairs. Do you want to repair it?” displays. If you click OK, unlock the disk and reinsert it, it will be infected. Additional symptoms of INIT 29 infection can include printing problems, system crashes, MultiFinder problems, and compatibility problems with some startup documents.
